In a vacuum, sure. But Uber lowering the effective “wage” so low makes it impossible for transport services paying a fairer wage to compete, thus making conditions worse for all workers in the sector.

900km in a day was pretty harrowing when I tried it, but that was in a 1992 Daihatsu Feroza, not exactly a modern quiet comfortable cruiser. Another factor is that, here in Australia, you’re limited to 60mph. Any faster and you’re in trouble.

Yeah, it’s like... okay, I’ve read the article, now to scroll past 20 superfluous photos to get to the comment section.

Really that should only be done for mega gallery posts (Radwood, other car shows, etc). Regular articles don’t need to be chased with 40 photos. Car magazines don’t do it either.

Why do the seats look like they have life vest inserts?

I can’t see this working for me in any of my cars, but I have a roadtrip coming up and will report back.

Certainly not saying it’s impossible. I’ve had friends go from working class public schools to big time tech jobs, and they’ve done great.B ut it’s not something that everyone can do. Plenty of regular people have trouble with filling out their taxes or understanding a cell phone plan, let alone the millions who are

Your addendum is exactly what I was talking about - not everybody can do it. If we further take a logical approach, not everyone can do it because fundamentally, we still need people to pump gas and run supermarkets and fix the sewers and all that jazz.

Something with really focused, limited appeal - great power to weight in a chassis that isn’t ever really going to handle.

Why spend so much time and money building it and then not keep it?

*Not everyone can just “land a six figure tech job” with “a lot of work”.

That’s true, but if we all started doing that they’d have to stop pretty quickly.

Yes! It makes it hard to get to the comments. I’ve read the meat of the article, seen some pretty pictures, now I want to hear the hot takes. I don’t wanna scroll past 20 glamour shots to do it.

Great article.

Question, though - what does one do with these? I’ve always been into RC but, particularly with cars, after a couple of trips to hoon it around the local tennis court, I get bored.

I’ve had fun racing with friends but it’s pretty rare I can drag enough people together with similar machinery.

MISTAH HARBOURSIDE MANSION

As someone who is relatively young and not married, it really blows me away to hear these stories all the time.

I’d never even seen a Chevrolet Traverse before today, and I’m gagging up the breakfast I ate TWO HOURS AGO.

This has to be April Fools.

Like, on the one hand, I get it. Crossovers sell.

Nobody’s saying that. The fact is, it pays dividends to tackle root causes rather then just sticking bollards everywhere and hoping for the best.

We may never reach a totally peaceful utopia, but we can do a hell of a lot better than where we’re at now.

Ah man, reminds me of heading out the first few times in my MX-5.

Wildly slow. Like, 10 seconds off the pace from even just regular joes.

Yeah, tbh I think I got caught up in the comment storm here. Really taking it way too seriously.
