Ha! I love it.
Ha! I love it.
I watched the trailer for this by accident and threw up in my mouth a little bit.
It was like all the hack TV producers from Discovery suddenly found work on a Netflix show. Absolute trash.
Yeah, something just doesn’t add up. It’s half a mile to sanctuary - scrounge up some rope and a friend with a car, crawl it there with your foot over the brake pedal and you’re home free.
Nylon tow strap. Even a Hyundai will pull it on flat ground. You’ve only gotta move it half a mile.
I want to believe this so bad.
The idea being that once he’s created a mould, the factory he works with would happily sell the use of his mould to anyone who cared, and/or let them create their own knockoff tooling. Just to get more business. Very common in China.
Development and engineering a good casting/injection moulding tool is hard work, and requires expensive materials to create something that lasts. $170,000 does sound ridiculous, but ~$50,000 would sound about right considering how many different pieces there are in a CD case.
This is the greatest thing I’ve read in ages.
Would daily.
It’s truly insane. Ignition module for less than $100? So jealous. One of the sucky things about Australia.
Kinda surprised to hear they haven’t been running 24/7. I used to work in a podunk automotive casting plant which ran 24/7 as a matter of course, and had been for years.
Nissan already make an AWD/RWD platform (Skyline), so they should then also bring back the Maxima name as an AWD/RWD platform... as well?
You’re right, we should just give up and toil as indentured servants for the rest of our lives.
I’ve learned tons about how to spot dodgy financing from reading Tom’s articles, as well as how to recognise scummy dealership practices. It’s top notch content IMO, which I haven’t seen done this well anywhere else.
That would make no sense - the Skyline already exists as a RWD/AWD car.
That’s just as silly! All the radio sports bulletins here mention the F1 results because it’s a sport. That’s what they do. Deadspin is no different.
Don’t complain about spoilers when you literally went to a sports website.
Did that rope have ANY applications other than gross used car lots?!
I think they just moved on and ignored it. It’s not like it was a show built on large story arcs - 99% of the action is contained to each individual episode.
I’d kill to have a play with a car with that installed.
Doesn’t matter if it’s by design or “normal” - some people don’t want to drive a car that burns that much oil.
