I’ve stopped ordering from my favorite pizza place because it is so popular that on some nights, you have to place an order by noon. I’m happy for them that they are not at risk of shutting down, and shifting my money to other less popular spots (I’ve been eating far more Ethiopian than I would prefer tbh).

All the good kid pools and water tables are sold out everywhere around me. I’m just going to dig a ditch in my yard and let my kid play in that.

Nah, she’s a Wall Street liberal in NYC. No one’s giving her a dime.

But then the sign of success is that they’re able to assimilate.”

She hasn’t lost her job yet. “Administrative leave” is sort of open ended. Turns out I have a significant amount of money in a Franklin Templeton account and I intend to let them know that whether the money stays or goes depends on what happens here.

We started our toddler in preschool this past January. Before that, he’d been sick maybe 2 times. After he started, he was sick almost every other week. He ended up missing half his classes.

No. If someone wants to buy the equity for pennies on the dollar, they also have to help the company pay its debt obligations, which is not pennies on the dollar.

Its a free-standing restaurant in the commercial district. The driver did not deliver it “next door.” Plus, the guys did not want Doordash to catch on, so it’s unlikely that they would send something “next door” because who orders delivery if they live next door?

I wish I had your problem. My diet has not changed much but working from home and losing the 1 mile of walking a day for my commute = extra weight. My fat pants are now tight. Next stop: all sweatpants, all the time.

If they charge by time, no one is going to leave the car parked overnight. But BB suggested that people would so Level 3 would be ok.

If you expect the car to remain in the same spot overnight, it’s not going to benefit the company that is installing them because they are going to be limited in how much money they make, and unless there is one installed every ten feet, it’s not going to benefit that many urban dwellers.

Haha, sure, use the most unlikely scenario as justification for your comment.

I would probably be divorced if we didn’t have a dishwasher. I’m of the “one pot meal prep” school, she’s of the “one pot for each dish and multiple prep bowls per meal” school. She loads the dishwasher and I wash the pots at the end of the night. The sink is empty every night.

This is the dumbest fucking thing. When it’s 90 degrees outside, everyone is going to fail that temperature test. Which is meaningless anyway since it only works to stop people already experiencing symptoms. And then people have to touch things that other people have touched, rather than tell their order to someone

When you make the Doordash driver deliver the pizza to another location? Lugging 10 pizzas? You think it’s right to make him do that work without a tip just to get back at corporate?

No, the Doordash driver delivered the pizzas to another location- the guy’s friend’s house. Ten pizzas. For no tip. Read the article.

You misread or didn’t read the article. They had the delivery driver deliver the 10 pizzas to another location. They were, in fact, acting like a customer. Fucking the driver over because you’re getting back at corporate is a shitty thing to do.

Huh? By placing an order and having the Doordash driver come to his restaurant, pick up the pizzas (10 of them!) and deliver them to his friend’s house, he’s making the delivery driver work. A delivery driver who had no part in scheming to resell the pies. Who had to use gas to make the delivery, as well as forgo

Using the numbers the writer posited, the pizza place did not tip the drivers.

Surely the government would allow me to buy a penguin before allowing it to be euthanized, right?
