But then you would be on the hook for cancelling at the other place you made reservations. Because it’s NYE.

Whenever I travel to a country with lower standards of living, I make a point of trying to buy goods from local vendors and NEVER HAGGLING. The money means nothing to us but makes a huge difference to them.
I really was. But the airlines seemed to have recovered this morning because of UAL’s earnings beat. If you wrote your response because you don’t think I have several hundred thousand in cash sitting in my brokerage account, I don’t know what to say to you.
It was New Year’s Eve in a tiny town. Three days out, I’d be surprised if people hadn’t already made plans. The article says that no one on the waitlist took it. Any other night, and yeah, it’s probably no problem to fill.
This is the right take.
I plan on investing a couple hundred thousand on airline stocks that are plunging based solely on hysteria.
But how will these people signal to other subway riders how intelligent and quirky they are? To a T, every single person reading “literature” on a subway sits straight up, leaning back so that others can see the cover of the book? Everyone else? On the lap, reading while looking down.
I had a friend who was bipolar. The truth is, there is nothing you can do if they don’t want to be helped. My friend had access to doctors, medicine, counseling- everything. But he refused to participate and disappeared frequently. Getting him committed is only a temporary fix. Once he’s was medicated, he was fine…

All the tech “service” companies are now starting to see why all the tech “service” companies of the late 90s died out- there aren’t enough customers willing to pay high costs for services. You attract new customers with low fees, and new workers with high pay, but funding that out of VC only lasts so long.

My wife’s wine consumption would triple if they came out with a good wine in a can. The only thing holding her back from drinking almost everyday is not wanting to waste a bottle because she only wants one drink.
I would change that to “You can’t time the market all the time.” The vast majority of my money is in safe shit like CDs and index funds. But I use one brokerage account to day trade and I’m up 40% the past year, and was up 25% the year before.
That applies to both parties. But at least Democrats don’t even try to make a free markets argument.
Ah yes, nothing better than seeing Republicans introducing more regulations while at the same time screaming about wanting more deregulation.
It’s a pretty clear trademark infringement- any dimestore lawyer could have won the case and gotten all the profits from the pants. This was a dumb mistake. RL has lawyers who doublecheck to make sure that the *name* of a piece of clothing is not trademarked.
This is why I didn’t even attempt this- great sales happen in January, especially on clothing. Some brands are at 70-80% off right now. I just stocked up on a ton of stuff and will not be buying clothes again for months.
Yup, his opinion is automatically suspect.
