The video’s a little much but Cash’s cover of “Hurt” is wrenching as well:

The gigantic sad clown does it pretty well, too.

Plus he used a pic from the Cloris Leachman era, burn him at the stake!

Just want to say that if they do bring this back, part of their update could be that “Edna’s Edibles” is now a weed shop.

Oh, yeah. If you’re in the mood for an ugly cry, go back and watch all their interactions after you know he knows. “Last time she’ll say she only wants me, last time she talks about our future, last time her family thinks of us as a couple, last time she says she love me . . . “ *sniffle*

Yeah, there was a desperation there that almost seemed overkill in the moment, but after the Michael reveal at the end it made way more sense in retrospect.

Oh man. That’s a great interpretation. And heartbreaking.

I don’t think he was avoiding talking to her using sex—or, at least, not totally. He believes he is making love with Jane for the last time.

When the episode ended last night, I thought Rebecca confessing might be a positive step. But I just finished the top 25 songs article and, with You Stupid Bitch still echoing in my head, my opinion has changed. If she had pleaded insanity, she would have gotten more help and been back in intense therapy. Pleading

Surprised that no one pointed out (or I haven’t seen it) the fine moment with Nathaniel and Mona with the rug: it’s perfect; I’m just not in love with it

I mean, obviously we don’t know where this is going, but a every inaccuracy/plot hole in the court case bothered me too. I think they could have easily avoided all of this (and I wouldn’t be quite as annoyed) if they’d just had her get caught for putting the hit out on Mona instead, we could have skipped over the fact

This was very close to repeating the Soapdish hit “I’m guilty! Guilty of love... on the first degree!”

I really like the thematic idea of this ending, that Rebecca is finally, wholeheartedly willing to take responsibility, to recognize her mental illness yet not use it as an excuse.

As a proud curly-haired woman, I opposed Mona for blowing out her hair.

I didn’t really love this. I get that the point was to get Rebecca to take responsibility for her actions, but the whole Trent plot felt like it was accidentally taken from Jane The Virgin or something (no shade to that show, just completely different tone.) I’ve kinda felt like the show has become broader since

I want Paul Welsh to win all the Emmies just for holding that cock-eyed yet sincere look of a Ken doll left too close a gas burner for every scene.

I thought that too but then I rewatched and I don’t think she knew. When Rebecca told her Trent was gone she was surprised and relieved. I think she hung up because she was focused on her work/studies. She’s got finals, after all!

It goes back further than that, too, with Valencia reminding Rebecca that pursuing a guy in a relationship hasn’t gone well for her in the past, and “Yeah, it’s never drugs” pulling Anna and her poor cat back into focus.

“Yes, we saw that article in the Atlantic... And then we peed on the Atlantic.”
