I appreciate your concern. I was joking a bit when I said “ban,” mostly we just don’t buy cereal because I think it’s bad for breakfast—it doesn’t have anything to power the kids through to snack or lunchtime. There isn’t a lot of shaming going on, and we let them choose lots of unhealthy foods.

My favorite is always the 2-step procedure:

Anyone who wants to abolish cops is an idiot. What people want is cops who protect and serve rather than punish and enslave..... and for all humans to be served and protected equally.  This notion that protesters against cops must want no cops is absurd, and you know it.

We cover all sorts of ways to take action to, as the saying goes, “do everything better.” For every comment saying we’re too frivolous, we get a ton from people who are scandalized we’re saying anything about protesting at all.

My only issue was that it was listed under Core and that has been resolved. I enjoy Kotaku’s articles, I just don’t want non-Core articles in my feed.

Not to devalue or take away from your message, but, (and there’s not really a nice, or I guess delicate way to frame this) there aren’t any Black friends to be had where I live... What I mean by that is I live in a VERY whitewashed place with a large Hispanic culture, and that’s essentially it.

Question on bail funds...are these good ways to direct donations? I’ve just been hearing that jails are releasing people over the past few months bc of COVID, so I can’t imagine they’re holding protesters for too long. Also, a donation to a bail fund eventually just ends up in the government’s hands once said bail…

The protesters and looters took their chances, but the businesses that got looted and burned didn’t sign up for the bullshit.

Perhaps a website should decide if they want to go for advise on how to counter maze and “how to pickle cherries” as was promoted today.
