The typical American is an idiot.
Why should you trust the government?
I wonder how excited people are going to be about their little French Revolution fantasies when they realize that their parents and grandparents are the rich that are supposedly fucking everything up.
Be careful about which card you’re authorized for. Ideally it’d be one that doesn’t get used at all or one that gets paid off before each monthly statement close so the balance gets reported as zero. Alternatively, pick one with a limit high enough to not get dinged for utilization percentage or rate.
The only employer whose guarantee is worth a damn is the federal government and even then that one is subject to the whims of 250ish million American voters. Relying on your employer to take care of you forever requires a special kind of suspension of disbelief.

Figured as much.
It sounds like your kid is going to an expensive private school or paying out of state tuition at a public school.
You’re a few hundred years too late to be talking about exploitation. The working class’ association with the monied class is voluntary. That’s not exploitative. You want to have money because you do not want to live under an overpass or in the woods. You do not need money. You want it. That’s the key difference…
You read the idea that students need to have a plan before they sign an acceptance letter and that parents need to be the adult(s) in the room rather than their child’s friend as “people don’t want to work hard”. Really? It’s the exact opposite of elitism. It’s brutally pragmatic. That’s how normal people are supposed…
