You are right but your are missing the psychological trick. Once you pick up the T and try it on you are much more likely to buy. The longer a customer holds an item, the more they are willing to pay for it, that’s a fact.

T shirts sell ridiculously well but are also super easy to steal. So it makes stores want to sell cheaply made Ts in high volume. They will say $70 but they will always be at least 40% off. Fellow Canadian, I have always wondered if Americans would complain less about Thanksgiving if it wasn’t so close to Christmas. It gives you some time to miss your family a bit before you see them again.
