Now I think would be a good time for another new generation. The world is becoming more protectionist. I want some new political Star Trek with a dose of optimism.

You’ve never seen a gambler on a high, then. Big glassy smile and, hours and hours late, floating on a cloud into a room of pissed of/concerned family as if nothing happened. Something definitely is going on in the brain there. Third generation gambling addict, too.
Nails seem to grow in layers. I need to trim mine every week; yet when I treated a medical condition that had made my nails thin, there was a clear line of thicker, new growth coming in that moved at the rate of maybe 2 millimeters/month. I’ve got a nail psoriasis flare up that’s coming in at about that rate right…
My sister’s kids’ daycare costs more/year than what I make
I blame all the people that accused him of playing a racist caricature. It’s one thing to say “I found Jar Jar annoying,” but calling him racist is taking things too far. The character was meant to be an alien version of Goofy and the funny way he had of talking is similar to what they did with Yoda. I’ve always felt…
I like how he pointed out that what she says she wants is what all democrats want, she’s just the only one being honest about it. That sounds exactly like something people say about Trump.
Most are socialistic democracies, though. Not socialists. Technically, the U.S. is too. You guys have farm subsidies, oil subsidies, welfare, medicare etc.
DiCaprio doesn’t pull off that colour scheme well. They should have dyed his hair darker or something.
It’s not that you produce more insulin when you exercise, it’s that you use up the store of glycogen in your muscles, so your muscles use the glucose in your blood to replenish the store of glycogen. This helps improve insulin sensitivity, meaning you don’t need to make as much insulin.
Fair enough. I wasn’t really commenting on your thoughts on the surgery, I just want people to be clear on the difference between type 1 and type 2 diabetes because it’s important. The more I’ve read over the years, the more I think that putting Type 2 diabetics on insulin injections speeds up complications. I…
You’ve lost me a bit. High insulin sensitivity is only supposed to be an issue with type 1 diabetes. Your blood glucose shouldn’t be going too low with type 2 unless you are over medicated. In type 2, if you are not producing enough insulin to control your blood glucose it’s because you have developed too high insulin…
Yeah. Even doctors don’t all seem to understand the difference between type 1 and type 2. It’s infuriating.
In reality heat will travel towards cold air, no matter what direction. So it probably doesn’t matter
I have one in the basement. I think I’m on team garage.
Weight loss doesn’t work for most people because the diet advice has been bad. Doctors suck at nutrition. Diet and habit changes are the future of type 2 diabetes treatment.
You are right, but please don’t patronize type 2 diabetics as the diet and exercise diabetics. My grandmother died of complications due to type 2 diabetes, it wasn’t pretty. The old diet advice was wrong. And we are still giving insulin to type 2s, which is total insanity!
Mr. Cara, have you read The Diabetes Code by Dr. Jason Fung? His fasting solution is a bit extreme, but aside from that, the book is an excellent briefer on all aspects of type 2 diabetes and its available treatments. He also supports bariatric surgery as a treatment that works.
Whoah there, Type 2 diabetes is not due to the inability to produce enough insulin. It’s due to insulin resistance, which is a very different thing and requires different treatment. Type 1 is the inability to produce insulin.
Unless you can somehow get the fudge and ice cream to grow inside the fibre of the peanuts, that will not work. It might help prevent constipation, though. Putting Metamucil in your soda pop does not make it a health food either.
I believe the Whole30 is a program designed to pinpoint food allergies/sensitivities.
