Last year I stopped paying much attention to football, and this year I have even less interest.  Football is local graft and national religion.  It’s a garbage sport for garbage people.

This is one of the most heartbreaking things I’ve read in a while. Too often, deep tragedies intersect with sports, and I don’t have anything exceptionally poignant to add besides my appreciation for how this ball club, and Deadspin, have handled and covered it.

Fewer guns.  More mental health care.  More empathy.

My dates don’t START until the post-apocalyptic / extinction talk.

Ugh. 

Two things are true:

1) Christians are widely and violently persecuted in much of the non-western world, to the point where some data sets have them being the targets of more violent acts because of their faith than any other religion.
2) That ain’t in the United States you smarmy, lemon-faced, fake-ass motherfucker.

The personality/manner difference between Kyrgios and Monfils is effort. Also Monfils is much more likeable.

Kyrgios has a bigger, better serve. Obvi.

The end product is alcohol, which is the same thing regardless of what type of sugar is used to get there. In terms of the end result, it doesn’t matter if it starts as Corn Syrup, which is a vile curse upon our society, as is the corn lobby, or as cane/beet sugar, etc.

I truly, deeply love every time the right blows up about this woman.

I think half the album is absolutely amazing and the other half could have been left in the studio. I did a lot of listening to it in the runup to the 10th anniversary show TVotR held in Queens (it was great!), and was reminded of this truth.

It’s a good album, underappreciated (as TVotR are in general).
