A lot of people do ignore politics, and in addition, a lot of voters base their decision on things other than whether a candidate is ideologically pure. That’s why Clinton beat Sanders in the primary.

I like her, but I think she suffers from the same shortcomings that Hillary had. She’s clearly bright and qualified, but she also can be perceived as aloof, not a great speaker, and a coastal elite. I’d probably vote for her in the primary, but then again, I also voted for Hillary in the primary.

There is no sleeping during the next four years. We have to start planning for the midterms now— particularly given that the Senate map is bad for the Dems in 2018.
