If you’re going to write an article about parenting for a major publication, you should be held to a higher standard. “Kids” can be synonomous with “boys” on Joe Schmo’s parenting blog, but not in a presecriptive article intended for the public.

And shortening—or at least making less pleasant—the lives of others, by forcing them to spend time with (and often be subordinate to) the adults who grow up to embody these “manly” qualities they’re taught as kids!

Eh, I typically save “actual arguments” for people worth the effort. You haven’t been saying anything particularly groundbreaking or intelligent, and besides—why would I “argue” with political points I mostly agree with when what I take issue with is the person whose mouth they’re coming out of?

Points for “Feo”

Ugh, as someone else who is very far left, I don’t want to be associated with you either.

You are an actual toddler.

You missed my point. The issue is that it’s only an option for some people to see others/themselves ONLY as individuals, rather than also as parts of groups with shared characteristics that shape their lives.

What on Earth does being a parent have to do with one’s ability to comprehend that people shooting each other is terrible?

I’m genuinely confused as to what you mean by “never addressed.”

That’s the entire point. It’s easier to pretend that groupings don’t matter when you’re closer to the top than 90% of other people.
