This would be perfect to gift family members who rely on you for tech support but that price is ridiculous.

I came here to blast this thing because I could nitpick plenty about it. But when I look at it in terms of “Would I set this up at my dad’s house so I never had to dick around with why his wireless network is acting weird?” then I can see the potential appeal of it. I’m not sold on it, but I concede there may be a

Can you use the controller over bluetooth? I use it over bluetooth to play PC games. I hope the official Sony program allows you to use it over bluetooth...

I ignored that because that’s literally the worst way to pay for a TV show. Game of Thrones alone is $3 an episode (judging by last year’s selection, could be more when it’s new). $4 for HD which, let’s be real, is what everyone wants anyway. That would be $40 for one season, which is already more than the $30 I’d pay

Yep. The superhuman close-up vision is also another reason I avoid contact lenses. With glasses it’s quick to switch from normal to superhuman. I don’t even need a phone box.

I guess. Anyways, Lasik is only for the brave.

:)

I’ve never in my life had a pair of glasses where the glass was narrower than the frame. I’m 38 and have worn glasses since preschool, so that’s very many frames and many more sets of lenses.

I’ve got glasses and even the Google cardboard doesnt work for me without them. For people who just need a little bit of correction it might work. But if your one of those people like me where the world is a blurry mess without glasses then your still SOL when it comes to VR

Contact wearer advice: remember to blink, your eyes dry up in a flash when playing video games!

A groove along the side of the lenses holds them in place in the frames, while the glass or plastic extends outward. It’s like typing a string around the outside of a doughtnut. The string doesn’t have to be with width of the doughtnut to hold it securely.

Not how eyes work.

I’ve thought about Lasik—as I’m sure many others have—but the slim chance one might go blind because of an accident during surgery is kind of off-putting.

Until 10 years from now you realize your vision is completely shot.

As do I. I was (am) pretty obsessed with it. I bought VHS(!) tapes of it from someone who recorded it off Trio (R.I.P.) on Ebay. I have the OOP DVD set which I should probably re-watch again soon. America wasn’t ready for a total sociopath as the lead of a network show

$1,250 for the MacBook, $50 for shitty plywood & duct tape.

Of course, San Francisco isn’t the be-all end-all. But it is a fun and vibrant place to live, especially if you are just 25 years old, so I have no problem with folks wanting to live there instead of the suburbs. Being “obsessed” with living in San Francisco is really not that different than 20 year-olds who want to
