I think it’s reasonable to assume that if this is truly your price ceiling, you probably don’t have a place to charge at home. That doesn’t prevent one from owning an electric car, but it does remove a major boon/add an additional headache.

s38junkie said it best. Are you dense? What kind of an article is this? I can only conclude that it was written for baiting idiots like me into replying. This is why I read The Autopian now, with actual automotive writing instead of this junk. Christ almighty.
literally, I have no idea how there was any debate in this article as to how it happened. No shit he floored it and lost it, it’s a V12 RWD Ferrari for christ’s sake. This website gets dumber and dumber I swear to god
A family member recently purchased a Cayenne E-Hybrid and installed a 240V charging system in their garage. Their commute is literally two and a half miles, but they also make 120-mile one-way trips semi-regularly with quite a bit of driving around there and not many charging provisions. A plug-in hybrid is pretty…
I feel like it’s worth separating out cargo and passenger planes if we’re talking about “airliners”. Wikipedia says 446 in service — who knows where that discrepancy comes from, and it doesn’t really matter, but what’s more interesting is that 216 of those are -400F freighters and 107 are -8F freighters. That’s over…
I sort of get where the “it’s a BMW” hate is coming from, but I still think it’s dumb. Let’s face it, Toyota does not have nearly the same expertise making a FR car handle well, and when it comes to the engine, this is the only way it was ever getting an inline-6, and we’re lucky it’s a damn good one. Did folks want…
As someone who’s driven an AP2, it’s hard to believe that the AP1 somehow had a shorter sixth gear LOL.
yeeeaaah... I wouldn’t have a torque wrench of that size cheaper than $600 anywhere near my hypothetical six figure centerlock Porsche, LOL
good torque multipliers are super easy to use. Maybe the cheap ones suck though, lol. I’ve worked on a fair few centerlock Porsche cars and never had trouble with using the torque multiplier + breaker bar to get the nuts off and a 3/4" torque wrench to get em back on.
IIRC, the Cup wheel nuts and centerlock mechanism are not the same as the ones on production GT3 cars. The motorsports parts are likely designed with impact tools (pneumatic ones at that, like d3v said) in mind. maybe this works with the Cup parts too, I’m not sure.
I will not stand for this Torx slander! It’s easy enough to quickly identify what size driver you need after you’ve seen enough Torx fasteners, and they simply don’t slip, round out, or cam out like other standards do. I am of the opinion that every fastener should be either Torx or E-Torx. I’ve worked on German cars…
I exclusively use Firefox on desktop and am having no such issues
this was my first IndyCar race ever in person, super cool experience. Highly recommended to anyone who even peripherally cares about cars and/or motorsports. we got the cheapest infield tickets we could find and it was awesome. might have to actually start following IndyCar now, lol
ah. That would explain why I haven’t seen one yet, lol. Good call
Toyota Echo and it’s not particularly close. Vague shifter, lightweight vague clutch, just really bleh overall. That said, almost all the manuals I’ve ever driven have been at least decent — countless modern BMWs, 997s, 991s, Caymans, 944s, an S2k, and a couple of air-cooled 911s with phenomenal short-throw shifters.…
Seems like a used Audi e-tron can be had for a bit under $60k, those seem pretty sweet. May end up stretching the budget though.
Always thought the La Voiture Noire looked pretty dumb, but definitely gonna have to agree with the Edonis for this one
same with the 944, it comes on at absurdly low RPMs
You can get a used Lotus Evora 2+2 pretty easily with that kind of budget. 2GR, manual, and they’re certainly unique. That said, I think a used Cayman or 911 is a better overall car
“Brian, could you pass me the fat man’s fancy puking hat?”
