I would say the TV series is the best part to revisit as the writers worked to make sense out of the entire thing and managed to tell some really good stories using the concept, while the movies are hugely enjoyable but tend get by on 'The Rule of Cool' a lot of the time.

I have never acknowledged the existence of that weird void between the releases of Highlander and Highlander 3 until now.
The villain of Endgame took credit for orchestrating all of the violent deaths experienced by Connor's various lovers, so Highlander 2 is the only movie that falls outside of the live action continuity I think.
