If I had an Apple share for every time they say they're going to kill something... I would have someone type this on a laptop made out of diamond (yes one single huge diamond).

If this is the future of IM I guess Pidgin, Adium, IMO and Trillian are aliens from the future. Make something 1005 open to as many clients/protocols as possible and video and you have something. This is just a "you don't need to download another product solution" yawn.

I'm working with Candybar now and it's really awesome. My only complaint right now is certain OSX icons are locked meaning I can't change the icon. Apparently if it's an app store bought icon, if its changed it screws up automatic updating. It's not that big of a deal but it's making me crazy to look at my perfect

disagree. If I was going to the diamond store I'd want an 18 wheeler

Really? Why? Because rumors push the stock market around? Are Microsoft and Google going out of business?

I agree it was a legitimate statement. You didn't see anything about Fire "magical abilities" that make your dreams come true. One is cheaper.

I don't think anyone is going to argue that the Fire isn't as robust as the iPad in terms of spec, but the argument is do you need them? Again no one but you can answer that question.

"People who don't use internet slang in conversation. From your first word, I couldn't care less what your opinion is."

it was probably the same as "ZOMG... what if we had a plastic disk thing that could move a pointer around on the computer screen." or "ZOMG... what if we touched the monitor instead of using a keyboard.

yeah, but i mean it's awesome they did this. I just hope either someone makes an open knock-off or they open up eventually.

This is not the future of education. It's the future of the education business.Today's announcement was not something philanthropic it was a market they saw open for a takeover. What I see this resulting in is more strife between the young student and the "old" teacher who just doesn't want to be forced to use the

Hi my previous comment was a joke. Perhaps you missed what a joke is when you were studying?

They are ( I work at a university). My only problem is it's all Apple exclusive and it's going to be hard for entire schools to switch to an all apple ecosystem if they're not already.

note cards obsolete: OK I can't wait for a kid to break out his iPad in the middle of an exam to cheat... I'll stick to my small discrete notecards.

I guess I'm eating crow since I was poo pooing this all last week. It seems very promising for regular education. My only issue is college. Kids will want to use whatever they want. Also many faculty memebrs might not be interested in learning a new program just to make a book they can force the kid to buy themselves

The rumor now is a way to create your own ebooks... again kinda cool, but I fail to see how this will radically change education. You can already do this at McGraw Hill online.

Have you looked at ibooks prices? Not particularly cheap.

action based MMO - How did that work out for Age of Conan?
