Art gets criticised, that’s kind of a thing that happens, yeah? Don’t read the criticism if you know you’ll feel the need to start whining about it.

if you don’t like reading differing opinions on a show you like

Globalization? You know, what made America what it is now? :-)

Sorry, all I read was “Black Widow’s TTs".

but... but... Captain America was MADE BY A GERMAN!!!

Sold by the Germans but made by Slovakians.

Vot iz zis iron-y? Zere is nussing hilarious here! Zis exhibit is closed!

Does anyone else see the hilarious irony in Captain America driving an SUV made by Ze Germans?!

At the end of the day she’s a critical analyst and she’s not always right. “She is not always right” is a lot more nuanced of a perspective than “she has no right to even critique,” which is the toxic perspective that an angry minority of gamers choose to show.

i know but that place DEPENDS on western society so much if we boycotted/sanctioned it they would have to make the changes benefitting women and gays

There’s certain words, phrases, and names which become memeified (or whatever the proper verb here is) and then the meme is what a person uses as a shorthand in their communication.

My guess is your definition of “biased” is “any opinion I don’t agree with.” Anyway, the funny thing is I have never seen a single one of her videos. I just appreciate that she exists because it helps weed out the whiny little manchildren in any comment thread: They’re always the first to bring her up.

That *IS* a change. This is a region of the world where women have no rights of any kind. It’s where women are still property. Not people.

Oh for fuck’s sake, a woman with an opinion. The horror. I’ve never met a “SJW” who has perfected whining like a little bitch as much as you GamerGate types.

How do you find the strength to carry on in the face of such persecution?

A+ Job making an interesting story about a convention involving women in an environment that imposes many restrictions on them in to a way to bitch about inclusiveness. Bravo!

I know it’s hot in Saudi Arabia but do they really expect a 4o-story Dyson fan to make a difference?

Not to be snide, rude, or otherwise...a-hole-esque, but isn’t this like trying to run a chicken farm inside a fox’s den? I get that things need to change (and I’m all for it), but you’re talking about a culture so far behind the times it might as well be prehistoric when it comes to this particular issue.

Overcoming gaming’s sexism, which seems to vacillate between being an almost manageable subtext and being completely toxic, and blatant misogyny of much of Saudi Arabia’s culture to put on a gaming convention?

Nothing like having a women’s video game convention in a country where women have no rights.
