Once you really go down that rabbit hole, you are lost. So, I admit this as a possibility and then act as though it isn't. Yeah, I guess I'm taking the blue pill. In my defense, on just about everything else, I'm eating red pills by the fistful.

Nothing about that setup necessarily means the film would be laughing at D&D. Think about a film like GalaxyQuest, which came from a place of deep affection for the subject matter; it was a love letter to Star Trek, even as it sent it up—and the more of a Trek fan you are, the bigger the laughs.

I don't disagree. And that we can't get decent American table wine is a shame. However, the stuff I see imported from France, Italy, Spain, etc. is usually table wine with a nicer label that didn't travel well because it's supposed to be consumed there.

You lost me at the 'can't tell the difference between red and white wines'. They are not even close.
