Watching this episode of Good Times as a black girl in the 70s blew my mind. The thought that Jesus might not have been a white man was frightening and revelatory at the same time.

Um, Saint Nicholas, upon whom the modern Santa Claus is based, was a GREEK man who lived during the 4th century. Dude was probably pretty swarthy.

The problem with many poor white people is that they refuse to acknowledge that they are actually poor. Which is why they repeatedly vote against their own interests. Then they want to point the blame at everyone other than themselves when things continue to not work out for them. When their food stamps get taken…

And frankly, I’m sick of people blaming Trump’s win on ‘poor disaffected whites’ -- white people of every stripe, educational level and financial status voted for him in droves.
