I've found a free cargobob that you can steal near Trevor's airstrip. There may be an airplane there as well, but at the very least you can have the cargobob to use in the meantime while you're saving up to buy a permanent one for yourself.

Shit, I'm trying to find out how to remove the body armor... I hit level 11 or 12 last night and it gave me the option to purchase the same armor as in the picture, but it tells me I have better armor than that equipped. My character seems to be wearing armor that can't be removed or something.

Took me until 10pm last night to make it into the first race, after over 12 hours of waiting and retrying. It's been working fine since then, but the race results started to pop up slower and slower around 9am about the time when I decided to finally go to sleep. I'm about to try hopping on again.
