Quick question - do CinemaScores actually mean anything at all?
Quick question - do CinemaScores actually mean anything at all?
Sorry, I couldn't think of a better word.
Unpopular opinion: with the odd exception here and there (especially whenever the aforementioned Handey wrote a sketch), I've never really liked SNL.
But then who would die for Mark Wahlberg's sins? Specifically, Ted 2?
Speaking of, I managed to read through M Train while idling at a bookstore Wednesday. (I have a lot of free time, OK?) It's probably a disappointment for those expecting Just Kids Part II, but I actually liked it more than that book - crabby old cat lady Patti is more appealing than young romanticized bohemian Patti.

Is he no longer capable of drawing a muscular male character who is not part gorilla?
Somebody had the gall to defend Superman's heavily outlined, decidedly un-super junk?
Oh, so do I. I don't usually even read superhero comics, but I'm looking forward to the mass nerd schadenfreude that inevitably comes of this.
Oh, good, a new comics feature! I can finally post this:
It might actually be the Tim Burton-iest movie that Burton had nothing to do with.
I rewatched that six months ago, and it really holds up - you'd think that the basic premise would be dated (especially since the reality TV it predicted is slowly dying out as a genre), but it's arguably more prescient than ever. We're all Truman now.
This again?
That's only the second time I've heard of a film being passed from cinematographer to cinematographer in a desperate attempt to save it (to paraphrase MST3k).
A line from Venture Bros. came to mind reading the first paragraph: "Did Henry Darger write this?"
The AV Club

Boy, if he wasn't currently a dementia-riddled invalid who has to be shocked into mumbling non requiters to an inoffensive blond lady on The 700 Club by an CBN intern with a stun gun carefully hidden off-camera, Pat Robertson would be furious about this!
They prefer to be called "microphone-enabled Americans".
Yes, and I dearly hope that it comes up during this Spooktacular. There's so much to talk about even excluding that accent.
Have not heard that interview (yet), but has there even been a non-ass kissing in-depth look at SNL since the 1995 NY Mag article? I have to assume Lorne killed that reporter and mailed pieces of him to every major newsroom in the country…
