This is my question. Is it something as simple as splicing one in to an existing system? How much of a performance hit are we really taking?

The closest comparison I can think of is the Euro Mustang V8 stayed at 435hp when the ‘Merican version was bumped to 460hp, with Ford giving one of the reasons as the GPF.

Another thing that the article didn’t touch on is growing season. In Hawai’i you can grow plants pretty much year-round. In Canada, we get less than 6 months total. You could be harvesting crops all winter while I would be subsisting on frozen or pickled veggies.

Good point, but it may depend on the project as a whole. This range extender will be made to work with the MX-30 battery and motor controls and their voltage/current limits and needs. If you are home brewing your motor and battery setup, it may be easier to pair an off-the-shelf rotary with an off-the-shelf generator.…
