Auto start/stop.
There is now bliss with the BLIS system in my Mazda CX-9. Overly sensitive when compared to our previously owned and equipped Hyundai Santa Fe. It triggers the annoying beep when there is still plenty of room which then elicits a scolding from my copilot for “cutting people off”.
The Eyesight automatic braking in my Subaru. It’s messed up and almost caused accidents more often than it has actually saved me from one - especially in crowded roundabouts, and if there’s any kind of inclement weather (rain, snow, fog, direct sunset or sunrise) it’ll either turn itself off and on or just completely…
I once tried to call work from one of those. Work was listed in my phone as "work". I said "call work" eight times. It got confused. I eventually said "fuck off". It called my aunt.
Infotainment made by the manufacturer. But worse than that. Voice controls made by the manufacturer. That stuff never worked.
I have owned several cars since 2014 with voice recognition and the accuracy of these systems has always been terrible with few signs of improvement. My biggest gripe is trying to save time by verbally providing the address to the car’s UI instead of sitting in my driveway and entering the address manually. It rarely…
That was meant to be a joke, I apologize that it wasn’t more clear
We’re a long way from L4, too.
Yeah, this law will have as much impact as setting up 3D lanes for flying cars.
The SNES controller was definitely the best controller of the 8 and 16 bit eras. The Genesis controller was certainly more ergonomic, but having three buttons instead of four, and the lack of shoulder buttons make it inferior to the SNES controller.
“First thing I removed was the fuse for the DCM.”
Like most modern medical miracles, it happened by accident when the doctors were all crowded around the transplant doing coke, and then a little dropped in.
It doesn’t fit with the look of the cars though. They’ve worked hard for nice, curved sheet metal, then they have the chunky angular blob of a logo. Needs to be thinner, or just... different. New logo definitely Killed In Action.
Hot take: I really like the new Kia logo. Maybe it’s just me, but I like it’s simplicity.
You read my mind. Why expand the “threat surface” of your car to a malicious actor thousands of miles away if you don’t have to? I am just glad your Tacoma has a *dedicated* fuse for that.
Don’t even need to add anything, most just de-resonate it...Which sounds like ass. Or they straight pipe it...Which sounds like ass.

This, I’ve almost been t-boned so many times because its 6 am, I’m sitting at the entrance to my neighborhood and some idiot is driving a black car with no lights on and doesn’t have drls either, especially when daylight savings happens.
I live out in the country. Everyone drives a truck or SUV. The bigger issue here is super bright LED and HID headlights, which incidentally, my stock ride height truck does not have.
