If you idiots keep this shit up you’re going to piss off enough people to ruin it for the rest of us that can actually keep it in our pants

Lol, they were 12km short of halfway to the karman line. It’s 60mi, not 60km.
All fair, but I was right about one thing. At an altitude of 38km it fell just short of space... by 62km, then it blew up. I really should’ve started that pool.
“Hey guys, check out this cool thing my car can do!”
Even worse than not turning off the lights in a drive through would be flipping the lights on and off every time you scoot forward a car length, and it wouldn’t do anything for approaching a military gate.
Even with always-on or non-selectable auto-on, I’d want a quick method to shut them off. Even if that setting reverts to default after a power-cycle, having the ability to shut them off in a drive-through or coming up to a military gate is just courteous to the poor bastard sitting in front of me whose side-view or…
As long as the people with auto-headlights that thing their headlights are set to auto actually have their headlights set to auto, I’m all for it. I’ve had people argue with me that their headlights are set to auto and on when I’ve stopped next to them and told them that their lights are just DRL’s and they’ve got…
In town, sure, because there’s street lights. On the interstate away from population centers is a totally different story. It’s especially bad in the rain, when even more people can’t seem to be bothered to turn on their headlights, due to lowered visibility and the fact that their DRLs and headlights both bounce off…
One of the very few features I wouldn’t mind seeing made standard is LED headlights. That said, I should clarify. I would rather see always-on headlights or manual-only headlights rather than DRL’s in any form.
Gotta disagree. If a driver has no DRLs they are a lot more likely to realize their headlights are off. I'd rather have that than the status quo
Agreed, that was also a stupid move
That’s a fair point about this one not carrying any passengers. Touche.
Auto-on headlights with DRL is the way to go as opposed to always-on headlights and it’s not hard to implement
I’d gladly go on a Falcon 9 into space.
Anecdotally, I’m Canadian, and I don’t remember the night issue really popping up until 10 or 15 years ago
If be all for incremental steps if those steps were in the right fahkin direction. Adding a feature that makes it easier for drivers to fail at basic tasks is not an additional safety feature.
I suspect that DRLs increase the likelihood of driving around at night without your headlights on by a percentage much higher than 9%, and I think that is far more dangerous. Either they should only work when the headlights are set to Auto, or they shouldn't be equipped at all. Personally, DRL's should be banned. If…
At that point just mandate always-on headlights
Oh, I have little doubt that the engines will likely be up to snuff. I don’t have any faith in anything that has Dear Elon at the helm anymore. His leadership appears to me to foster a environment where corners get cut and unrealistic expectations are not re-educated by the engineers involved, either by them biting…
Damn, I should’ve started an office pool for the results of the launch. My bet would be a RUD before the Kármán line.
