I’m feeling better and better about them every day thanks to the bullshit they keep piling into new vehicles. Unfortunately, I don’t have a garage or workspace right now that would allow me to take a 17-20 year old Baja and refresh it up to a good enough state to be daily reliable. Eventually though, I’m working on

For what it’s worth I know 3 Maverick owners. None owned a full size or mid size truck prior.

And this is why we can’t have nice things...

Occasionally people actually have a need for a larger vehicle, but the few of you that do have that need do not change the fact that the vast majority of people who own larger vehicles do not have a need for a larger vehicle.

The main reason I bought a Tacoma instead of a Maverick a while back was simply because it had a manual transmission. I’m not giving up the stick for anything short of a full BEV.

oh hell yes!

I’ve been following NotJustBikes for a while. Dude puts more research into each video than I have into my entire college degree. I hate that the smallest trucks these days are as big as the full-size trucks of the late 90's, especially when I’m apparently one of the few people that is honest enough with their needs

I have NO problem with safety features.

Also, don’t suggest the use of a torniquet around the neck to cure a coworker’s verbal diarrhea. They don’t like that.

I don’t understand why people think getting life advice from TikTok is ever a good idea. Every single example I have seen either cited or reposted as an article has been complete bullshit. Instagram isn’t any better.

I’m glad I sold my Tacoma, breaking even, and bought my new daily for less than 7 grand late last year. While my Taco was a good truck, especially with the 6MT, it didn’t make any sense to bring it to Honolulu.

Yeah, it probably should be cheaper but I think supply-chain costs and inflation are heavily influencing that cost. Considering those, it makes sense that Honda would just snatch an already developed and in production bike, make minor tweaks to get it road legal and see if they can sell them by the bushel here in

Oh... right... Scooter. To be fair, an 80cc scooter doesn’t take much effort to stop when it’s only 300lbs with rider and tops out at about 30mph. At 8 years old I had a go-kart with more power ( I think it was an 8 or 10hp lawn mower engine) and only one tire had a brake. A deathtrap by today’s standards, sure, but

Cable is way cheaper than hydraulics.

*yet.

But they do have an national plan and effort to force their way into and take over those markets and become the next “UJM”, and the incumbents don’t really seem to have a plan to fight them. I wouldn’t be surprised if they succeed. I also wouldn’t be surprised if this is just the test phase before they go after

4 fingers for the clutch?

See Drew8MR’s comment, because they are likely spot-on.

lol, it’s weird on small Hondas too in the 2020's.

That’s fair. I’m sure it was engineered to a price-point. Rear disk brakes didn’t make the bean-counters happy.

I mean, the 2023 Tacoma still has rear drum brakes and few people bat an eye. It’s weird, I’ll grant you that, but it’ll be ok.
