Yeah, I had to take mine again at 37 (long story) and the only difficult part was remembering to use two hands on the steering wheel. I’ve driven stick most of my life and I don’t use my right hand for steering. I spent a lot of my formative years on the highway going back and forth to horse-shows and we always used

It also highlights how important it is to teach people not just how to squeak by when taking the driving exam (that is already completely insufficient to prove drivers have the skills necessary to operate a vehicle safely), but also to teach Driving Etiquette.

It seems many drivers are either too stupid or too lazy to be bothered to learn what the lights on their dash mean.

I suspect that most of those vehicles are using those lights for both fog and DRL, and in either case your headlights are probably off if you can actually notice the difference. I wish OEMs would only turn either of them on if your headlights are set to either On or Auto, and kill them in any other position to remove

Huh?

I feel like I’d report it as a manufacturer defect to the NHTSA.

Yeesh. I can understand no adaptive cruise control (even prefer it) but no actual cruise control? Nah, count me out. The only way I’m driving a civilian vehicle again without it is if it’s a motorcycle (my current bike does not have CC) or something I built myself.

I’ll applaud the dismissal of the top sheet. I’ve been trying to convince my wife that top sheets are stupid but I have not won that battle either. Not sure how I feel about having two duvets/comforters though... I like a lot of blanket, so I generally go with a king-sized on a queen-sized bed.

Exactly. I believe people that like duvets fall into one of two categories:
1) They like it because they can just wash the cover instead of the whole thing which can be difficult to fit in some washing machines, or
2) They like it because it’s French.

looking at the owner’s manual now... So essentially you’ve got three headlight intensities, DRL/Low/High. That’s dumb. Toyota does some dumb shit with lights. I’m still pissed that I had to fix the OEM tail lights on my 2020 Taco because Toyota decided that the third-gen should have red rear turn signals instead of

What vehicle do you have that you cannot turn off the headlights? I don’t think I’ve ever seen one that doesn’t have an Off setting.

Frankly, I think DRL’s should be banned. Instead, it should be headlights or no headlights, nothing in between. If DRL’s must be, then they should not function unless the headlights are

I don’t think I’ve ever had a problem fitting a comforter in a washing machine. I’ve only recently downgraded to a compact washing machine though. Meh, worst case I could just take it to a laundromat. No big deal.

I’ve been trying to convince my wife for years to just get a damn comforter and call it good. Duvets are dumb.

More specifically,
Off, on, off, on = Turn on your headlights.
Quick flash of the highbeams, maybe two = At speed, Turn off your highbeams or stopped/low speed “After you”.
3 or more quickflashes = Road hazard (object or police)
Solid highbeams on after you have become visible = You’re an asshole and this is my only

Comparing all mid/full sized trucks and SUV’s aesthetics, the Taco and 4Runner are hard to beat. The fact that the Taco is one of only two in that long list of vehicles that has an option for a manual transmission is the other of two reasons why I bought mine. I’ll talk shit about the features all day long, but at the

Some features can be turned off, some cannot and even those that can be will often turn themselves back on when you restart the vehicle. And it’s all dependant on the make, model, and even sometimes trim level of the vehicle you buy. To fix the cruise control on my truck I would’ve needed to splice an Arduino into the

Yes, when you turn on cruise you can hold the cruise control button for 3 seconds to override it to Cruise Classic instead of Adaptive, but it’s something you have to do every single effing time you turn on cruise control. There’s no way to permanently override it without either getting a tuner to dig into the ECU

If nothing else, my real desire is for these ADAS “features” to be optional rather than standard features. I probably would’ve bought a Tesla a long time ago if it wasn’t for the ADAS and giant effing screen stuck to the dash. The rest of the hardware of the vehicle is amazing, but the ADAS-is-life design ruins it for

Honestly, even on the few roads I found where I could actually use adaptive cruise without it pissing me off it was a toss-up. 9 times out of 10 I’d rather just have Cruise Classic. It does exactly what I tell it to and it doesn’t try to adapt to anything, just how I like it. It was to the point with my Taco that I

Had it on my Tacoma. ‘Twas worthless in traffic.
