I know parents who have kids with severe peanut allergies. Their lives are not easy. But they are not guarding their kid against sniffles, they’re guarding them against anaphylactic shock and death.

Everyone here is obviously on the side of peanuts, but I think characterizing parents concern as “trying to shield the kids from an aggressive gust of wind that might cause them to get a sniffle” is minimizing a real danger. Peanut allergies are severe and often deadly.
