I saw Coriolanus recently and Tom Hiddleston was drenched in blood on stage. (Shamefully, I still found him incredibly sexy)

Titus Antromacus.

Hopefully since the review was based on a Cannes screening, you will get the version we did - don't be put off, anyway.

No but he looks very gorgeous with the beard.

That's interesting, I only really know about Greek tragedy, and hubris is often there combined with fate - the key paradox being that even if a character wasn't hubristic, the gods would do this to them anyway, but the gods choosing their fate led to their hubris anyway. Shakespeare and later poets must have developed

We need you to report back!

have they confirmed that? what could she be doing that's worth missing out on another Thor paycheque?

I don't like Portman, but Jane Foster was always such a dreadful character that I don't even think it's all Portman's fault. Hopefully this new writer will say NO and stick Jane in Antarctica again for the duration and give us some Sif/Thor romance.
I also really like Stellan Skarsgard, I don't think the article is

He's amazing in it though. It's fabulous all round.

There are some fantastic things about Polanski's version, but Kurzel's has a place too. They're both really things of their time, for me, primarily.
ETA I forgot Keith Chegwin plays Fleance in Polanski's film. British people will find that amusing as he was best known for being in the kind of noisy jangly kids' TV

They didn't remove it. Not sure if some weird edit has been shown to US critics, but in the version that played in the UK in October, the scene was there.

Their relationship is beautifully portrayed by Kurzel, they have fantastic chemistry as well as being individually amazing. It's not soulless I promise!

Honestly this is still in my top two or three films this year. I loved it unreservedly. It's so breathtakingly gorgeous and rich in its sensuality as well as brutality. I think "Kurzel isn’t especially interested in psychological nuance" is just plain wrong, for me there was plenty of it on display, and the film

If it's really true they've edited it out for the US release, which is barmy but stupider things have happened, then I hope you guys will get an uncut version at some point. It does make sense in the version we saw in the UK.

Yeah, this is weird now.

Ah, sorry, my bad.

Weird to think the Night Circus was a nanowrimo project originally. It always makes me want to try it (although I clearly failed this year)

I love Sunshine. And I once tweeted her about it and she tweeted back so she is great.

I got exactly halfway through the second Baroque book and I don't really know why I stopped. sometimes I love Stephenson - I even made it all the way through Anathem - so I feel like I should have finished it. but now I'd have to start again at the beginning, and I'm not sure I can face it.

I realy really love the world he's created, and the characters, so I'm with you on just being glad we got more Gentleman Bastards.
