I live by the sea at the moment so there will never be snow. Lot of mizzle at the moment is all. And in general it's much too warm. As soon as I can I'm going to move somewhere properly cold and snowy. i need snow. I envy all of you who have it.

Honestly as soon as my course is over and I can scrape some money together I'm emigrating. i'm going to go be an immigrant somewhere where they treat them better than we do. It has been better since I left London but only in that all the awfulness is less immediate and it's easier to ignore the news, but still.

I know 'Cameron is a sociopathic cnunt' has never been news but he seems determined to keep outdoing himself. this sounds awful but I honestly do sometimes think, fuck literally everyone who voted for him, and those who couldn't be bothered to vote - this is all their faults. Except obviously I know there's a bigger

Sometimes people point out to me the sheer volume of negative things I say about myself (which is a tiny fraction of the amount I think, and I've learned over the years to reduce the amount I say to what I think is a minimum) and tell me how shocking/wearying they find it. But I have literally no idea how else to

So much recognition for what you said there. So much. You're so right - we don't know what 'normal; is supposed to feel like, and people don't always realise what that really means.

er, it might be better as a boys' name than a girls'…

This news is hella good!

maybe 10,000 years ago

Wow, that sounds amazing.

the rights are yours for 2 million. have your people call my people

It is legit; but I wonder if it's what ultimately serves them best?

I always loved the Basil Rathbone Sherlock Holmes films, they used to show them on TV at six o'clock when I was a child. And then Jeremy Brett was so brilliant too.

it would be quicker to write a list of people who are good in things that AREN'T adaptations, since 99% of everything is a fucking adaptation these days.

Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury!
Halle Berry as Storm!

Morgan Freeman - Shawshank, Batman, Robin Hood, James Patterson, a million other things

Oh yeah. By enjoy I don't mean 'think is good' necessarily. more like 'you have to make an attempt at the thing you want to write/enjoy the idea of writing, rather than what you think the audience wants. However that attempt then turns out.' This only applies to your own projects of course. I write a lot of terrible

Yeah, I know. The article has a silly tone so I was just being silly in response.

it does say that now… maybe they added it in?

haha. the @Lit_review twitter feed was particularly funny tonight.
they also reminded us of the author in 2012 who tried to ruin Keats for everyone by turning 'elfin grot' into a euphemism for vagina.

btw I post on instagram but I never use filters cos it feels like cheating. I fail at life.
