I agree with the others here. Get through episode three and that groundwork pays off. If you’re hoping for non-stop pew pew, you might be disappointed, but it is a heist/espionage show.

I really liked the Frank Grillo movie, ‘Boss Level’. Equating the time loop to a video game was a nice touch. Die, learn a little more, try again and again until you succeed. Much like ‘Edge of Tomorrow’, but overtly gamey.

Didn’t realize it either until I was looking up why the finale was so underwhelming.  They usually have some significant cliffhanger, which was missing.

Might be because they only aired half the season so far.  At least on some platforms, they don’t drop a season until complete or right before a subsequent season drops.  That, or they keep jumping it around platforms and channels.  I think Yellowstone has aired on Paramount, CMT, and I think Peacock or NBC had rights…

You forgot the archetypal portrayals and the superfluous horses doing spinny shit and skidding around.  I actually like the show, but it is definitely one note.  I actually liked 1883 and 1923 to a lesser degree because the tropes and writing of the parent show fit better into those time periods.
