Thanks for this post. I was raped at gunpoint in college, and this guy’s criticism of how a young girl handled herself is really too much for me to even respond to. How dare he.

Yep, telling a victim what they should or shouldn’t have done does nothing but add more guilt, shame, and stigma. It doesn’t help the victim after the fact and it doesn’t change things. Supporting initiatives to educate kids about consent, supporting organizations that provide resources for victims, supporting victims…
America needs a Black Megyn Kelly. She’d be like “Santa is brown; Jesus is clearly Black...”
The problem with that is it ignores the human element and reality for that matter. Trying to understand victim behavior is part of the big picture. A blanket statement like ‘they should just report it to the police’ is like saying ‘people just shouldn’t rape.’ Well yeah no shit. It doesn’t really address the problem.…
These are kids; telling a trusted adult is not a “wasted step”, and it also allows her some accommodation from the school, so she doesn’t have to ride the same bus with him or whatnot. Give the girl a break- she did nothing wrong. No one can ever be a victim perfectly enough to meet everyone’s standards.
Ugh- your last line. You were doing so well!
no she’s awesome
“As things trickle down...” that guy should look up where we get that saying from.
My favourite is the one who somehow thought Trump would solve the wage gap?! Even if you buy into his “I love women. Women are tremendous” bullshit, was I asleep when he acknowledged the wage gap?
Well, I can take joy in the pain of people who are regretting their votes because Donald is not building a wall/prosecuting Clinton. I really don’t have a lot of sympathy for those ones.
Newsflash; people who can’t tell they’ve been conned surprised when it turns out they’ve been conned.
I assume that the judge dismissed his argument because it’s incredibly asinine

“I think it’s literally unconstitutional.”
I’m so tired.
If you have to think about whether or not it was an insult and you’re still not quite sure? SHADE. Shade is subtle. Shade is more subtle than sarcasm. Beating people over the head with insults in no way approaches shade. Fuck people, give Kara a break.
Yes, Bees.
