I tend feel that calling for product boycotts is generally pretty classist. Not everyone has the ability to “vote with their dollars” or toss out stuff they actually need. People who can afford to do so and want to absolutely should, but I do not like the idea of making it morally obligatory. The “official shoe of

Same. Though I can’t afford to replace my shoes, so I’m just going to sew patches over the logos.

He’s the male Paris Hilton. Legit. Paved the way for her career. Of course she voted for her (whoops. Him. Going in deep on that comparison).

I said in another comment that non-voters are the only people I’m willing to fling shit at right now.

I don’t think I called anything outrageous. I like Rich a lot; a single critique is not a pitchfork brigade. I’m sure he’d agree with that.

Yeah I mean I get tired of celebrities hawking bullshit products but this is DECIDEDLY not that. She considers her book important, of course she wants people to read it. She owes it to her publisher and the people who worked on it with her (editors et al) to sell it, of course she wants people to buy it.

Yeah the only shit I’m willing to fling at this point is at people who didn’t vote at all, followed in a close second by people who wrote in/voted third party.

I’m not happy about it. Harrison Ford is obviously a massive asshole. I think he’s extremely hot as Han Solo, but that doesn’t make it OK for him to do all of the above. I’m also not surprised by this news, though. Seems pretty much right for everything else Carrie Fisher has said about her time on set.

I still haven’t had the heart to watch her concession in full. I know that’s unfair to her, and I’m not in denial, but I just can’t. It’s SO painful to realize what we’ve lost.

I’m just going to chew on the VRA and other suppression efforts. I’m not getting into subjective guessing.

Yeah I never thought I’d wish he was still alive.

I think the ‘inhuman’ stuff is a combination of decades of other people’s misogyny (women aren’t people, after all) and her own efforts to thread the needle. I don’t blame her for it, and I won’t critique her for it ever again.

We don’t know. There are no adults in charge right now to tell us everything will be all right. The national dad is too busy trying to do diplomacy with the schoolyard bully to pay attention to us.

I’m not and never was a massive Hillary fan, and I agree with much of your sentiment here. The lack of makeup, the general depressed aura. Makes me admire her EVEN MORE for turning up and fulfilling her obligations with dignity. Like an adult. Like a leader.

I’m still using the Tiny Hands extension on my browser. It’s the only thing that can make me smile when looking at headlines right now.

She is SO goddamned dignified, I feel ashamed for having bought into some of the dehumanizing rhetoric around her.

Don’t argue about why she lost.

Oh man how had I not thought about that before. This is one of the few issues they care about that has something resembling a moral high ground similar to issues liberals care about (i.e. criminal justice reform, capital punishment, gun sense)

Obscurity by now? or, for the non-wishful track, Trumpian hatemongering? This is just so random.

The fact that he’s airing this is DISGUSTING.
