It’s not a seismologist’s “job” to predict when and where an earthquake will occur with 100% accuracy. That particular branch of seismology is relatively young, but even if it’d been around for hundreds of years, predicting natural events is difficult. Even meteorologists are often way wrong.

THIS is how you write a rape joke.

Aw I’ve never particularly cared about getting ungrayed until now =(

Glad to see Dani Mathers hasn’t entirely gotten a free ride on the White Privilege Express. I was wondering what happened to her recently.

thanx.

Yeah, I was being flippantly mean. I know that this dude does something that gets at something very vulnerable in people, and that is not really something to be cruel about. But I still find it incomprehensible that people would react to his schtick with relief/belief rather than a fist to the face.

Man, fuck those people who don’t believe you. What you’re saying is entirely believable. Deception is real. Dishonesty is real. I think some people just can’t accept the idea that they don’t know everything and aren’t fully in control of what’s going on in their lives.

My feelings on this dude and the poor rubes he rips off is somewhere between “wow this is unconscionable” and “how can I manage to get in on some of this action by taking advantage of dummies”

SHE IS A DEMON

I don’t think the OP was trying to be rude either, but damn. It just stings right now. Ordinarily I can grin and bear the jokes about how much America sucks while privately doing a George Costanza “the jerk store is running out of YOU” rundown, but not right now. Trump is being flippant and acting like this is a game,

I’m so sorry. It’s so unconscionable this is happening, and it’s happening everywhere. It’s not a fucking joke.

It is a little bit insane on here. I’m not fully on board with what you’re saying, but people are pretty sensitive. But I understand that sensitivity. Donald Trump has said a lot of really scary shit on the campaign trail. People are on edge. I think it’s OK to give people a pass for not being 100% rational at this

That totally makes sense, and I know my initial reaction was not appropriate. But at the same time, I don’t think I’m completely off base. I absolutely believe you when you say you are horrified. But some people in Canada, Europe and the UK (especially the UK) genuinely seem gleeful about this, as if each and every

It is absolutely not my job to “back up my assertions” to a hysterical internet commenter. Sorry!

I had to move in with my mother this summer due to medical bills. I’m a freelancer, and I have to pay my $300/month insurance premium out of pocket. I receive weekly medical care for a chronic condition and I have numerous expensive patented prescriptions to pay for. I had surgery to remove a tumor-filled uterus last

Actually, I had nothing to do with our current healthcare system. You don’t know me, but if you did, you’d understand how actually cruel it is to suggest that I’ve had any hand in creating a system that seems to actively work to end my life.

I know that it’s my choice to take this personally or whatever, but can countries that aren’t America cool it with this smug bullshit? There are real people suffering over here in the US due to the sociopathic capitalist ethos that runs our oligarchy.

I know I’m preaching to the choir here, but Obamacare enabled me to get insurance at a time I desperately needed it. It is not a perfect law, but the bad parts are almost purely about making concessions to a profit-driven healthcare system. Capitalism and medicine should have nothing to do with each other, ever.

Not my job to fill you in on the basics of current events, kid. You’re on your own, with nothing but the vast resources of the internet and cheap as free journalism to assist you.

She is not the worst of it. The emails are not as bad as Republicans say they are, but they aren’t as banal as Democrats say they are, either.
