I’m glad it’s not just me getting more bothered by violence.  I have trouble watching much of anything that’s not a comedy.  But I can do the work in real life.  I like to think I’m saving my emotions for concrete events, not just imaginary time-wastes.

I love those books. I reread them, like, every 5 years. I reread them again in preparation for nursing school this year. They inspire me, they soothe me, and they are some of the only books I’ve found that cover a lifespan. I adore his insights as he starts out fresh out of school as an assistant and matures into a

The full poem, for any Jezzies that want it:

I worked straight through and it was fine.  Other people said they were more tired than I was during their pregnancy and I don’t want to minimize their experience, but I really had no trouble working and just want to give you a glimmer of hope.  The hard part was stopping Googling gestational data because I was so

I am obsessed with this poem now! Thank you!

Your family was really insensitive.  You guys can have different opinions.  Geeze.  Sorry you’re having to deal with them on this niche issue.

Hahaha! Right?!?! I was amused that didn’t occur, apparently, to anyone on the team.

ME TOOOOOOO!

I actually love this article.  Not to be petty, but I’ve been pretty frustrated with some pieces for quite a while.  This feels like a return to the kind of content and writing that got me hooked on Jezebel in 2009.

Speaking as a mom, I can tell you 100% that if this happened to our son and there was an afterlife in which we could peek in on him now and again, we would be so relieved to have left him with some money to smooth his way in life. Even though the money isn’t being used as your dad imagined it would be, I feel sure

I don't think it was me. I remember reading it and feeling glad that at least someone else understood my profound irritation.

A Jezebel review of Tully included the plot twist. Had been intending to see it with my sister, then decided to just pass. Still have not seen it.

This new batch of writers... Blech.

I think it’s totally normal.  Women touch each other’s hair all the time.  Men should be allowed to touch each other’s beards.  Who cares?  We’re social primates.

I am dying laughing.  Thank you.

I hate the videos.

I can’t stop listening to Lizzo. Almost every morning, I sing along to “Juice” and I’m pretty sure that should count as a guided meditation or something. Her music, but that song in particular, makes me a better person. Of course I love her rendition of “Nothing Breaks Like a Heart.”

A lot of people opt for surgical even as early as 6 weeks. While there’s a slightly increased chance the abortion won’t “work” that early (i.e., the emrbyo is so small that even under ultrasound, it can get missed and you’ll have to come back later), the upsides that patients like is that it’s pretty quick and pretty

Nothing but bootcut looks good on me.  Slimmer cuts make my prominent derriere look like I’m wearing a diaper or something.  Not cute.  Truly, for me at least, bootcuts make me look curvy in a balanced way.

I have a strong hunch that they’re the same women who love saying things like, “Boys will be boys.” I don’t get it, personally, but there are obviously women out there who super enjoy scaffolding toxic masculinity.
