I’ve read every one of his books, including the cookbooks — and he always wrote good apologies in his post scripts when he changed his views on something he’d written earlier, which is one reason I think people liked him so much. I loved his work and persona, and this loss really hurts. I feel for his family and loved

I’m here too, and the political climate here really does wear me down.

That was really nice of him to state. I am surprised, because so few men really make any statement supporting the right to choose. And he doesn’t explicitly say, “I support women’s right to choose,” but at least he says he doesn’t support the anti-abortion campaign.

Yeah, I love this trend, but we have 4 cats who love chewing leaves.

I read an article years ago that drew a correlation between wealth and ostentatiously large families. Although the few friends I have with 3+ children are just upper middle class.

Oh, I think you are totally right that she was probably referring primarily to her earliest career experiences, but I nonetheless remember the Cameron Diaz butt article making me feel terrible about myself in 2000, to getting specifically catcalled because of my large butt by the end of high school (2003). And my mom,

Not necessarily. People didn’t get to really choose to be mothers back then.

Also, cows are major vectors for tuberculosis and I am unwilling to risk it. But I have no problem with heating milk.

Ugh, freaking 579. I have literally never been able to shop there. What a way to make everyone feel shitty.

The [INSERT SPOILER] at the end of this piece was needlessly petty after readers’ well-placed frustration with the initially spoiler-free Tully post.

Regarding J Lo being told to lose weight, in the article she explained that she came up in the industry when size zero was venerated. This rings true. I was early in high school when she wore her Versace dress. Charlie’s Angels came out the same year as her dress, and I distinctly recall reading a very adoring piece

It’s all good! Very close with our friends and family. It made me realize that visiting a new mom right after birth is more involved than I had been led to believe, and visits later on are more welcome than people often realize. Moms need support even after the novelty wears off.

I never understood why people liked or disliked Kristen Stewart — she just looked like a normcore grump, but that’s no reason to dislike her — but then I fell in love with her after her SNL Totinos sketch, and now I am constantly rooting for her:

The hiding after childbirth thing:

Yes. I am not a model, but I have spent a miserable amount of time working on my smile too. But I haven’t stopped smiling, thankfully, just accepted a lack of photogenicity.

This is very important, and a very positive outcome. Running for election is expensive and time-consuming. I wish the headline weren’t so blasé. I know it seems super cool to look down our noses at everything because we don’t remember how to feel enthusiasm in a world where Trump is POTUS, but it is harmful to the

I love this whole post.

Why? Clearly a very specific part of their brains match up and, in my experience, that is critical for long-term compatibility. I say congratulations to them both!

Oh, thank goodness. I watch YouTube videos of animals with my toddler and sometimes wonder if he’ll live in a world that they still do when he’s grown up.

That’s really interesting! Thank you for sharing. Glad you like them!
