Wonderful article. I have been captured by his easy-going, open home cooking videos as well. My favorite was his recipe for an open-faced tomato and potato omelet, I’ve made that several times.

I assume it's dead and will remain so, been anticipating this since the acquisition. My only hope was that the app I used (Flamingo) was small enough to escape notice as it hasn't added users in years.
I think it’s also a show that can get away with happening anytime they want to make it in the next decade.. just as interesting to check in on Mare/Winslet years later without it having to be a fresh case of the week type thing.
For everyone reasonably pointing out Big Little Lies S2, there’s another comp just as good - White Lotus S2. I appreciate Winslet & co being worried about diminishing returns, but I’d trust their process (heh) to make a compelling S2 of Mare.
With any luck I’ll press play on episode (checks) 7 sometime before the next season.
that article was a goddamn delight
I’m also a big Adam Granduciel fan, this is great, can’t wait! 🐻🏔️
finally!!
And then it combines to form a terrible mutant being with the Marvel clickbait.. it's evolving!!
Oh shit, you nailed it.
This is funny to read considering the Iger news later that night.
Sure it had a million cameos (I guess? Didn't see..) but the original DS was a giant bag of 'meh', whereas BP was pretty astonishing and flat-out good. Would've thought the latter would have a much larger tail.
I hear ya on the indulgent part. I was fine overlooking that because it seemed to come from a good place and the actors made the most of it too.
Hey Sufjan, eat shit!!
I’m intrigued. Segel can write some pretty interesting things. it was lost in the morass of streaming content, but Dispatches From Elsewhere had great acting performances and some excellent moments.
That’s a significant second week drop compared to the original movie. Not being able to beat a Doctor Strange sequel was surprising.
I agree, Tony Gilroy pointed out how important the transition to a fourth episode was to get people to understand how large the story was going to be.
Makes sense, it's the best thing Disney+ has produced by a country mile. And I'm not even bashing other shows by saying that.
I enjoyed dipping my toe into 1883 for the Oregon trail aspect. You can tell he's thinking of Cal and Lonesome Dove for a bunch of it.
Ha, that would be amazing but impossible. Christie seems like the apex of stardom budget for this series. Dennings not getting cast as Death for instance (I quite like the new iteration).
