I did mailroom work in college for a major patent firm in Washington. All of the things you say are quite true and I am heartned to see someone else do the educating in a scenario like this. I have battled against the whole “UPS cant TM the color brown” too many times.

In a world where CA is the only state on the west coast...then yeah maybe.  

In my work they call that COLA a “Merit Increase” and tell me to be glad mine is the highest on the team.
