While this may be true, Enterprise totals cars with far less damage than your standard insurance company. Between lawsuits and diminished resale value its not worth it to them to fix dumpster fires.

I worked at enterprise for a long time and a few years was running the maintenance side at the airport. “routine maintenance” flew out the window faster than a G5 if the airport was short on cars. It was a common occurrence to rent cars with dead license plates or ones that were 10k past the oil change interval.

Its actually pretty amazing how many people had this gauge and didnt realize how useless it was. Christmas lights in the a-pillar had a better chance of telling you if the car was lean.

Had this happen with a cadillac srx when I worked at ERAC. The key was in the cupholders, but the cadillacs had the little flap you could raise or lower to make the cupholders deeper and the key was in there. Being a newer nissan, I’m guessing the key was in the slot in the glove box.
