Great video, I especially like the line: “Christianity is helping the stranger, even if it carries some personal risk, that is the parable of the Good Samaritan”.

I love all these mayors coming out in support, but I have to admit I wondered: what will they do if it comes to the point of military intervention? After the past 5 days I don’t put anything past Cheetolini and his orange brigade.
Mayor de Blasio decried the executive order as “immoral” and vowed to fight the President tooth and nail.
Picturing the Twilight Zone with Roddy McDowell “People Are Alike All Over”. Two astronauts travel to a distant planet. On the flight, Roddy is concerned as to what aliens might be like, his companion reassures him over and over again that “People are alike all over”. Their spaceship crashes and only Roddy survives.…
Yep, headline led me to believe this might end wlll.
Why. Why did I click on this story. I have zero control and I need to examine my life and choices.

I am not here for these calls to “come together.” When an asshole shows you what he is; believe him and react accordingly.
I think you can use Incognito Mode (if you’re in Chrome) to still read articles, but also if you have an Amazon Prime account you can get a discounted WaPo subscription. Just in case you didn’t realize!
Eh, I think that the only way to cut this Gordian knot (without setting it on fucking fire) is to call out and encourage decency. It’s at a premium nowadays, and I feel like people are so caught up in their right to feel injured/afraid/angry that the knot just gets tighter.
I’m all for rich Trump supporters to throw around money while desperately telling everyone they meet that they’re not racist. I get the impulse, and the $450 is crazy generous. But saying the equivalent of, “Oh, you’re one of the good ones. Here’s some money.” still seems off putting.
She sounds like a serial killer just getting started. She won’t be getting rehabilitated.
Right — it’s sort of like rewarding a murderer for being bad at murdering.
This.
What’s the requirement for life?
WOW. I was just to type the same thing. This little girl murderer needs like Jesus, an exorcism, death, disease, therapy, hell... I do not know what else. I do believe in Satan, here is my proof. some people are just evil, want to be evil, choose to be evil.
Dangerous offender status legislation is handy in cases where people are violent, dangerous, and lacking in remorse (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dangerous_offender)
Nice strawman.
I agree, smaller class sizes and more teachers will go a long way. And definitely, not paying teachers a market-competitive wage isn’t helping either, but I think it’s disingenuous of the original person quoted to imply that just paying teachers a high wage will fix anything.
Overpaying teachers may not be the answer, but underpaying them is certainly not the answer.
