I am thinking as US Spec, it is surprising. Around 35K when new. Its surprising it was available. Hell they offered Defenders in 1997 as an auto. A US only option at the time.

And INBEV doesn't influence beer distribution in the US. The craft beer movement has taken share from them every year. The distributors want to make money, they couldn't ignore it forever.
They are all tied together. Its easier for the dealerships to cry foul than GM or Ford. There are jobs in every state at stake. Easier for them to make the argument and influence politicians to pass laws.
