The Land Rover. Maybe the Brits got the idea from some world event in the 40's?

GMC Denali. Tahoes/Yukons are already over priced lumps of junk. Then you have a dressed up version pushing 100K? I can not think of one redeeming quality for one of these.
Allman Brothers Band - Statesboro Blues
“I get that nostalgia for a simpler past, the thing is that the new Defender is awesome and arguably a better vehicle in every way.”
This is a loaded question. My irrational hatred depends on the day. Living a fairly affluent part of town shows most with money don’t have taste or sense.
I drive a nearly 30 year old Land Rover by choice. I’d have to attach a spreadsheet for 2022.
I was lucky enough to own my childhood dream car. 16 years of joy and pain.
We are starting to see a few of the New Fenders show up at different Rover events. Nearly all of them have left with body damage. I’ve seen a few get stuck on very simple obstacles on the trail. Part of it is Driver Error due to most of the owners have never driven offroad before and rely on the vehicles offroad…
2022 Land Rover Defender
Sawtooths are available over here but at a premium. These would get destroyed on a trail here unfortunately. I dont think they come in anything smaller than 18.
I ran the LWB Tornados on my D1. Oddly Im not a huge fan of the Freestyles I had on my NAS Defender. I like the simple Wolf wheel more than any Land Rover wheel, or the 110 1-Ton wheels that are unobtanium over here.
I’m in the minority where I just dont like 3 spokes. If I were to run alloys on mine it would be with 5 spoke CSKs or 5 spoke TRWs. I dont think I’ve ever seen three spokes on a Soft Dash.

I’ll see your Engine, and raise you an entire Frame. RRC Frame swap.
Once I put a Fridge in my Rover, I never wanted a fridge again. I got lucky and found older ARB built by Engel. May not be as efficient as the newer fridges, but has been a great addition to my offroading gear.
“OG Rangies look cool and it’s a lot of truck for the money, but between the significant quantities that were built and their even more significant maintenance costs, I wouldn’t rush into buying one as an investment. I would buy one, though. They will never go out of style.”
The Land Rover Defender. Everyone seems to like it except Land Rover enthusiasts.
I shattered a Volvo Wagon window trying to roll it up for someone. The reason it wasnt all the way up was it happened to be stuck. I tried to crank and boom.
Manual Disco! OBD1! Manual Seats! If its a slicktop you have a real winner there. Pull the carpet and the terrible sounddeading sponge and check for rust.
Meanwhile Defender Owners look at this and wonder....WTF is this crap.
