This just made me involuntarily laugh out loud, mainly because I wasn’t expecting it at all but it was so spot on. Well played.

I’m a person who both writes and draws comics professionally, and I can say that the vast majority of creators have taken this tack, not just the top tier creators like Millar. Almost across the board, the end goal for people making comics these days is the dream that their IP will be sold for a movie or television.

Man, I have to say that Robin Wright looks bad as HELL in that get up. I’m already afraid of her because of House of Cards but god DAMN she looks frighteningly capable as an Amazon warrior.

Did anyone notice that Times Square was warping through time in the shot of the crew from behind towards the end? This would also explain why McCarthy is punching that ghost in front of what looks like a 60 Ford Falcon. Guessing that’s from the final showdown of the film.

I’m a 30 year old man, I love the original, and I have watched this trailer 8 times today. Love it, can’t wait to see it, and I don’t care that the funny people starring in it don’t have penises- because they are all hilarious and great actors.

Totally agree. I just am of the opinion that the most base argument for this discussion is inherently flawed.

IP is a very slippery slope when you start talking about fair use. The devil is in the details. Yes, as long as this production team isn’t profiting from the film, technically they are in the clear, but you can’t just take someone’s word that they won’t.

I’m 30 and scaling STILL bothers me about my STAR WARS toys from back in the day. It took every ounce of willpower not to buy that gigantic Falcon that came out a few years ago. Not because I still collect toys, just simply the principle of the thing.

I really enjoyed your intellectual speculation, here. Well put.

“Join ME and together, we will rule BROOKLYN as father and son...”

‘Way to be a human while interneting. Keep it up Majorus.

Yo that’s Ulises Farinas’ art. Not too sure why his name is totally void from any and all solicits of the book but he did the whole thing. Guess Disney is still pulling a Carl Barks in the 21st Century and pretending it all magically came from some bunker underneath the castle in Disneyland.

Thank you. I keep it old school. Sumi ink, 000 Sable hair brush.

Well shucks! Thank you!

I appreciate it. I’ll go ahead and give you the link then!

For sure. If you go to Diamond’s website and search for Carver A Paris Story the order code will come up. I sincerely doubt anyone will order it though on a whim. It’s a black and white European adventure story. Those arent exactly a big deal stateside. You can still order it if you want or get it from Midtown Comics

Thank you.

Well the Vertigo story came out in Strange Sports Stories earlier this summer. Carver comes out Nov 11th. Paul’s actually doing a back up for the first issue as well. Which is...you know, pretty fucking awesome.

Ha! Well thanks. It’s always a work in progress. We actually collaborated on a short story for Vertigo earlier this summer that I wrote and he drew. THAT was a crazy moment for me.
