Really digging some of the anime-inspired artworks. The Nausicaa, Princess Mononoke, and Evangelion ones are really gorgeous to look at.
Also, bonus points for including the Big Sister from BioShock 2.

Great-looking pic! The cherry blossoms in the background really make the whole picture “pop”, and provide a nice juxtaposition with the lady in the foreground.
Backed it as soon as it was announced.
If it’s too good to be true, it probably is.
Shots fired!
You can’t help but marvel at the technical shoddiness of it all.
Looks like I’m not the only one who remembers it fondly :)
So much so that I wrote an article about it a few months earlier.
Doom with Mechs? Reminds me of this forgotten but highly imaginative gem:
Insulting me won't do you any favors.
With the exception of Sanders and Kasich, we are once again faced with an undesirable electoral scenario where all of our choices boil down to a douche and a turd sandwich.
Makes me wonder what a DOOM anime would look like.
Just goes to show that we still have a lot of work to do as an community to make game industry a safer place for each and every one of us. I sincerely hope that Nintendo’s actions won't open the floodgates to more needless tribulations.
I just found out that I’ll be heading to Kyoto for my Japanese academic summer project. Given that the city I’m going to is widely considered to be the nation’s cultural epicenter (as well as the former capital of Japan), my anticipation has now gone through the roof! And that’s not mentioning the other summer…
Torchlight II was so much fun when I initially played it all those years ago. I remember modding the game to turn my pet companion into a Headcrab and adding extra particle effects to attacks in order to give them more “oomph”. It’s a shame that I never got to finish the game due to overwhelming academics, but I…
I strongly second that. The same can also be said of Shogo, which was released around the same time as the anime and FPS booms of the 90s. An incredibly crafted experience that didn't attain the reception it truly deserved. The medley of mecha anime aesthetics and Doom/Quake gunplay was just too tasty to resist, and…
The nostalgia is strong with this one.
I had a chance to attend his GDC talk earlier this week, and the facts and information he shared with the audience were truly eye-opening and enlightening. There’s just something fascinating about Postmortems: learning more about the design choices and changes that went into a particular game and seeing “what is” and…
Ah, Oblivion. I remember buying this game following a nasty car accident I got caught in. I had heard a lot of great things about it back then, so I decided to give it a try. As soon as I emerged from the sewers, I was greeted with one of the most immersive and fully realized game worlds I had ever set foot on. The…
The Evil Within on my aging laptop. I don’t think I’ll be able to finish the base game, let alone the DLC, since I’ll be too busy at GDC and with my academics.
Damn, that’s so heartbreaking to hear. My sincerest thoughts go out to his relatives, co-workers, and friends. Today we lost a talented producer, and we’ll never forget the invaluable efforts he put into his games.
