Me, too.
Me, too.
Hey, you could turn that into a business. I’d pay you to call the phone company for me to change some service features. I’ve been meaning to do it for, oh I don’t know, at least 3 years.
I’m in L.A. county and had a similar result. But once I fixed the assumptions (rent $, rate of increases, and pace of increased value to the house) so that they actually reflected this market, the result was closer to what I expected.
deleted comment... Not sure it’s accurate, but realized I needed to tinker with it a bit.
Unfortunately, not available on traditional landlines.
Agree. That’s how my mother - and therefore I - always did/do it. I never could figure out why all recipes recommend such a cumbersome process, and I always ignore them.
I knew this would be on the list. I wasn’t sure if it was worth it - stupid expensive for a trash can. But OMG, I love it. I’ve had it about 4 years, and it still looks great, functions well, and stays out of the way nicely. Great product.

I agree. This advice is the tail wagging the dog. Pick a closing date that coincides with when you need the house.
No. I hang, too. To avoid wrinkles plus I just happen to have more hanging space than drawer space.
I agree with you. I’m a CPA with an audit background and also a CFE. I learned early in my career to never ask a question without knowing what the answer most likely should be. Also not to get so busy counting the basketball passes that I miss the gorilla. Liars like to give complex answers to obfuscate.
The process you describe is one I use to make some quick cheeze sauces at home. But the difference to some of the new commercial brands like Miyoko’s Kitchen is that they are actually fermented like dairy cheese. So much better than trying to mimic the flavor with lemon or miso.
I was just scrolling down to recommend Miyoko’s Kitchen, too. Thanks, Claire, for mentioning some other brands I had not yet heard of.
I discovered the joy of a good mattress years ago. Last year, I discovered latex pillows. Heaven. Can’t put a price on a good night’s sleep.
This. And thank you - I needed this.
Thank you for finding that. I thought we had already seen this article. Clearly, I was wrong. :)
This is an intriguing idea. I’d love some tips about task management though. Not sure what he means by that. I’m assuming he means the usual - delegate, defer, decline, etc. I’d love more concrete suggestions for an environment in which so much of the task clutter is imposed as mandatory by highers up.
Exactly. The Uniform Commercial Code allows the bank to reject a check after 6 months (but not until then.) Banks are free to set their own guidelines for how long they will honor a check after 6 months.
I’ve noticed this over the years. For me, it seems to only apply if I am driving. And I think it’s because as soon as I get into familiar territory, my brain immediately associates it with being home (even if I have another hour drive.) For flying, my experience is exactly the opposite. It takes painfully long. And in…
Yes! I have two copies. I use the old one from my parents (that has lost its cover and copyright page - early 60s, I think) the most.
