Jaguar just made a huge deal about buying their first car commercial. Maserati told no one and just dropped the mic on them.

The words and subject are fine, I personally don't think the down and dirty roll up you sleeves "Detroit" industrial imagery fit the message. I like it....not for Maserati.
A commercial for the Ghibli makes sense. This particular commercial doesn't. Sorry if I didn't state that clearly...
I'm not worried about the price point. It would have worked for a Viper, a Vette, a CTS-V....I just don't think the foundry, the weld shop, the blacksmith shop, the midwest cityscapes make anyone hungry for a Maserati. Doesn't fit in my humble opinion.
It should have been. A commercial streaming midwestern sensibilities into your brain is completely incongruous with the Maserati brand.
Makes no sense for the Ghibli. That's a blue collar gut check American pride commercial, nothing about it says Maserati.
Public seems pretty split on opinions.
I was in almost the exact same situation on a mountain highway in SoCal about a decade ago. Oncoming traffic had come to a complete stop, guy in 32 wheeler didn't see them(he was coming around a bend) and he couldn't go to his right because of a drop off. He started coming into our lane and I had to squeeze a flatbed…
So he's inspired by the feeling a factory built car driving across India gave him, but it's being built by hand because being hand made gives you a feeling you can't get from a factory built car?
I saw this a few weeks ago and thought it was pretty boring.
Wilson fumbled on the opening play too....

I try to do that every year at Autorama, I usually have a booth set up for the weekend.
Last year there were several events at Cobo(Autorama and NAIAS) where I'd typically go up to the roof and was turned away by a blockade(not because it was full). Has that turned into some kind of privileged parking only area?
I had the same first impression, especially what seemed to be an odd shaped back half, "too Dart." Although the interior looked sharp right on from the first leaked pics Looking forward to seeing it in person now.
This was my 1st pick too.
I don't disagree, but like most production vehicles this one apple falls pretty far from the tree. There comes a point where you change proportions too much and they lose their effect.
Styling cues are there, the proportions are all off.
