This is a tough one. The boy-racer changes, especially the turbo and exhaust, plus de-badging things, is a red flag. What else was done that he’s not admitting to and how much has it been flogged?

It’s still just a fucking Mustang, like, you’re gonna do what, go trawling for chicks? The only people you’re gonna impress are other dudes (Mr. Regular voice “THAT’S A GOOD CAR.”)

Literally zero people disagree with you.

The only reason dealers still exist is because they lobby to exist.

The US retail car dealer paradigm is irretrievably broken.

I am intrigued by your ideas and wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

He didn’t lift the regulations that need to be lifted: the stupid 25-year import shit and the different-not-better US standards. If we signed on to the UNECE standards, the 25-year shit would be moot, and it would allow companies to make one car instead of two.

Not a Tesla fanboy but the take is that even if you do not know how to haggle the price, everybody get the same price. Now is the price for a Tesla is fair is up to your point of view

I suspect they didn’t go directly after the illuminated SOE, it probably just happened to fall into a legal grey zone that prevents non-essential lighting. I’m not saying I agree with it, but it’d be hard to believe anyone would be that ridiculous and petty.

I’m a little confused as to how a dimly-lit hood ornament will cause a noticeable amount of light pollution when it’s bracketed by blindingly bright LED DRLs and headlights.  Or is the issue with the light being on when the car is off?  It honestly doesn’t make any sense to me.

Backdrag is a huge thing for ratchets.  Also newer ones typically have higher tooth counts that require less swing in tight spaces to turn a fastener.  I just upgraded from 36t ratchets to 90t and there is much less “slop” when using them.  There is also less play in the drive end than the old ones but that can be

My box is full of everything - SnapOn, MAC, Matco, Craftsman, Kobalt as well as plenty of HF and WalMart tools.

Same.  If I know I’ll use a tool a lot, I will spend a few bucks more on it. It also depends on the price difference.  If the top level tool is only like 20% more, I’ll probably spend that for a better tool.

As long as The Morning Shift doesn’t adopt a slideshow format, I’m good.

It is again bending on price. Tesla spends a whole lot of time pretending that it’s not a normal car company but really, now that it’s past the whole startup phase, it is.

Does it bother you that The Morning Shift includes links to sources that are behind paywalls? If so, why?”

I’m not sure about the high standard when I look at the piece of scrap wood under the rear fender thing necessary to hold it up off the ground.

I actually like wood on a motorcycle, but it has to be executed EXCEPTIONALLY well for it to work. Like, try this wooden Vespa instead:

You’re the first person I’ve heard who doesn’t like the CX-5

Slap a Honda badge on that, and one could have easily gotten $75,000 on BaT.

As if buying that thing stock wasn’t batshit enough, those shitty chrome wheels can’t lend anything positive to that decision
