Multiplayer(I’ve only managed an hour or two) isn’t bad, once you get it up and running. We had to invite through Steam instead of the game proper,but they may have fixed that.

I can’t say for this game, and when it comes to Steam, you are correct in that the majority are male. But for video games in general, we make up a little less than half. (According to the Entertainment Software Association of Canada)
