Being a tiny, tiny fish in the aftermarket industry, I still find it amazing that I’ve had the chance to talk with quite a few people that have been involved one way or another with GM projects that legitimately never saw the light of day. Weird engines, parts combos, exotic fuels, active suspension, etc. etc. etc.…

The drivers have been doing some awesome stuff as well. Lando recently ran a fundraiser while doing a twitch stream. Other people in times like these would happily pocket that money and run.

I love the low, lean look of 80s Japanese cars. Compared to the bloated stuff we have nowadays I look at the short height of the engine bay and go, “How’d they fit an engine in there?”

I’m nervously excited yet also just, um, nervous. I knew GM would eventually be jumping on board, but holy fuckballs, they’re dropping this on us a lot faster than I expected. Some guys I work with were like “Nah, 10 years.” I felt like 5 years tops.

I’m gonna have to bug the fire outta the engineers now so I can keep…

This nightmare is still ongoing here with a dealership that got big really fast. The amount owed to various entities is continuing to grow. Bart Reagor, the head honcho, owes Ford just over $ 50 Million USD. They also got involved with banks that were kiting payments on top of it all.

It’s sad honestly. GM tries to pound their chests now with the C8 and “Zora this, Zora that.”

But back then Zora had to do his stuff all back-doorsy because GM brass went fuck-all and pulled out of motorsports. There’s so many things where GM could have really had something, only to pull back from pulling the trigger…
