it depends on the amount of patents being licensed. I believe Samsung is guilty of a wider array of infringements compared to HTC. If every single patent Samsung is up against is covered in the HTC deal then yes Apple will have to drop their license fees(if they are any higher). However if not all patents are covered…
Samsung's strategy is to counter sue in order to gain some sort of leverage vs Apple. If Apple wouldn't have been after Samsung's a## Samsung wouldnt have ever considered suing Apple. Thats first. Second Apple already won a major case in the U.S with 2B+ dollars in damages, all Samsung has been able to accomplish is a…
Samsung just license Apple patents already like everybody else does
its mostly Ys and Ls
no but my boyfriend probably will
Hard times
didnt notice, everything works fine for me
Ive been testing some of my web apps on it and it does not seem to recognize touchstart-move-end. Every time I try to do touch interaction it simply displaces the viewport. Why can't microsoft just get touch events right on a tablet? Whats going on??? Honestly from a developer perspective its been pretty disappointing.
Motorola also will sign a cross license deal with Apple. Seems like Samsung will be the only one left out.
It depends on the case. In this particular one it does not make a lot of sense but generally speaking it almost always costs more money to enforce the law on an individual who's causing unnecessary waste, this makes total sense if it serves as an example to many others not to try to mimic similar habits. In other…
the relevancy of the enforcement has nothing to do with how much it costs to enforce the law. It may be a factor under certain circumstances just not the determining one.
Im a mobile front-end dev, never had an issue with respect quite the opposite.
I dont disagree with this particular case being so insignificant and not worth the time, I just pointed out that the criteria to identify whats relevant or not when it comes to law enforcement should not be a mere comparison of what it costs to enforce the law.
The cost of law enforcement does not need to be higher than the action that breaks the law in order for such action to be relevant.
Im going on reading strike until Jamie gets fired...
Microsoft and HTC are willing to pay fees to Apple for the patents they own yet Samsung refuses to settle. Why?
The article objectively explains why the DNA and the Nexus and GS3 screens quality are inferior to that of the HTC One X and the iPhone 5 yet it does not offer any insight on why the HTC One X is better than the iPhone 5 in terms of screen quality...According to the article it was just a bit more brightness what made…
From what I can appreciate on these pictures and from what Ive been able to compare in person the iPhone 5 screen looks better than the One X's. I cant remember right now if the One X screen was brighter but the iPhone 5 screen color accuracy is definitely superior. I believe this is something more critical than a bit…
The iPhone 5 has the best screen currently in the market according to another article posted on here a couple of months back.
