The firearms were left “completely unattended?” I’m far from an expert, but just from a Twitter thread by an experienced armorer there are so many things wrong with that statement that I’m surprised her attorneys would say it publicly.

Yeah, I think Tom does mean it in the moment when he says it to Shiv, but when the chips are down there’s no way in hell he voluntarily falls on his sword for the Roys.

Yeah, while the show is understandably focused on the Roy family and the question of who succeeds Logan, it seems overwhelmingly likely that none of the siblings take over and the company ends up under outside control or broken apart / divvied up.

I can sorta see it from the perspective that he has the fewest skeletons, but if Shiv is considered too green to be CEO, how the hell does Cousin Greg get there in any reasonable period of time?

I don’t think this show leaves reactions like that in by accident. Another example from this episode is Roman stifling a laugh when “Rape Me” starts playing.

I’d guess that all the lawyering games among Tom and Greg are leading to the two of them forming their own little faction, or at least Tom attempting to do so. I don’t believe for a second that Tom would actually go to jail for the Roys. Tom and Greg are two of the most directly implicated in the whole cruises

I think Logan was also genuinely hurt that Roman didn’t have a single happy memory about the two of them to share — as well as the fact that Shiv refused to even try — but of course he can’t just say that, so he lashes out instead.

Sure, but going by the actors’ ages, there’s a 20+ year gap between Connor and Kendall. So Connor would have had at least, what, 25* years to prove himself to his dad (assuming he wanted to) before Kendall emerged as an even somewhat viable option?

I think Ted’s struggles with his mental health were an interesting way to go, but the Nate storyline is an example of the overall lack of consequences for anyone this season. Ted has panic attacks and is overall much less invested in the team than he was in season 1, and yet somehow they go on an incredible winning

Yeah, I was kind of surprised they didn’t use a fictional analogue inspired by Till. Especially since he and Diana were described as best friends.

I remember a fair bit of commentary around e01 of Watchmen about the number of viewers that didn’t realize the Tulsa Massacre was a real thing as they were watching it. I would wager that more Americans had at least heard of Emmett Till before this episode, even if they didn’t know all the details.

why reservations? if anything it’s more timely than ever. brutal capitalists like “maximo reyes” need skewering

That was Shawn Hochuli, he of this masterpiece of officiating last season. I don’t know if he likes seeing Browns players get attacked or if he’s just an idiot.

It wasn’t necessarily her fault. It looks like they supposed to have the camera tight on Harrelson instead of showing the wide shot.

Very well said. To me, one of the more aggravating (and in my view faux-intellectual) questions to come out of #MeToo is “What is __’s path to redemption?” Les mentioned Louis C.K. in the review, and that’s a prime example. Why does he “deserve” the spotlight, fame, prestige, or redemption? No one does. 99.9% of

That sounds incredible. Who would you cast as Baldwin and Buckley?

It makes a sort of meta-sense, though: by this point they’ve done this so many times and know each other so well that they can practically read each others’ minds.

This was a great episode. It’s the first time the main cast has all gone somewhere/done something together, right? Probably needed earlier in the run to establish some camaraderie. Though it seems odd that the cameraman and multiple segment producers would get invites...

That’s how I interpreted it, as well. I think Jimmy, in his twisted way, thought he was doing Edgar a favor by nipping any hope of a romantic relationship in the bud (heh). Only when he started opening up to Vernon and Paul did he realize that Edgar just meant a deeper friendship.

I don’t want to get into a classic Internet Argument, but – I think it’s interesting that you think Diane is the self-involved one in the relationship, when Mr. Peanutbutter’s gubernatorial run was one of the most self-absorbed moves imaginable. Not only did he upend their lives to enter a political race he barely
